1. You design the book first. Characters, ending, forbidden turns, and boundaries lock in before prose. The engine isn’t free to invent your plot.
2. Continuity while it drafts. Ledgers track what the story already established, so later chapters can’t casually contradict earlier ones.
3. Gates during generation. Beat and scene checks surface as flags on this manuscript — not a vague feeling after 80,000 words.
4. A polish pass you can see. Line-level issues show up in the Editor’s Chair. They don’t silently rewrite the book out from under you.
5. You approve every chapter. Inspect, edit, hold, or refuse.

Author and Pro plans include an additional whole-book review providing reader insights and a structural edit review.
